Despegar (Decolar), part of the Prosus ecosystem, is a leading travel technology platform in Latin America with over 25 years of innovation. We are seeking a Legal Operations Assistant to join our legal team and support high-volume litigation management and legal operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for extracting, cross-referencing, and analyzing procedural databases to identify inconsistencies, activation delays, and unregistered cases, ensuring data integrity across management systems. You will monitor and validate the flow of service of process captures and new cases, identifying operational failures and escalating to responsible teams within established SLAs.
You will manage periodic portfolio hygiene, tracking case aging by status and coordinating with external partners to maintain a clean and updated case database. You will track and record cases eligible for billing discounts, maintaining updated dashboards and preparing monthly comparative reports to support decision-making.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the creation and distribution of operational communications, manuals, and training materials for partner law firms and internal teams. You will compile and send daily provisioning indicators and monitor operational KPIs for the legal department. You will conduct sampling audits of case closures and sentence studies to identify process improvement opportunities. You will also mentor and support the intern team in daily operational activities.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree in Law (in progress or completed), with interest in mass litigation, civil procedure law, or legal ops
- Prior experience in operational legal areas: law firm, in-house legal department, or company with high-volume litigation operations
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets — data cross-referencing and database management are daily tasks
- Familiarity with legal case management systems (legal CRM or similar) and ability to read dashboards and operational indicators
- Analytical mindset and sharp critical thinking to interpret data, question inconsistencies, and propose solutions independently
- Rigorous organization and attention to detail — in high-volume operations, small errors have significant impact
- Strong written communication for drafting communications, institutional emails, and reports with clarity and objectivity
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous demands, prioritizing urgency without losing sight of importance

- Resilience to maintain delivery quality during high-pressure periods and tight deadlines
DESIRABLE:
- Experience in high-volume litigation operations or legal tech companies
- Creativity in proposing process improvements and identifying solutions
- Knowledge of BI tools such as Metabase, Power BI, or similar
- Familiarity with Electronic Justice Gazette (DJE) and electronic service of process workflows
- Intermediate Spanish or English
