qlub is a fast-scaling fintech backed by Mastercard, Mubadala, e&, and Shorooq, with $72M raised and operations across multiple markets worldwide. The company has doubled headcount in the past year and is building restaurant payment infrastructure—from pay-at-table solutions to digital menus, order-and-pay, payment links, and SoftPOS terminals.
As Assistant Tax Manager, you will own tax compliance across every market qlub operates in, serving as the primary driver of compliance and audit readiness as the company expands. You will partner closely with finance, legal, and country teams to build a scalable tax function.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end direct and indirect tax compliance across all markets: VAT, Corporate Tax, Zakat, and WHT, filed accurately and within statutory deadlines
- UAE Corporate Tax management: registrations, computations, returns, and documentation
- KSA Zakat, VAT, and WHT compliance, including coordination with ZATCA and external advisors
- E-invoicing implementation and ongoing compliance across required jurisdictions
- Tax structuring and compliance for new and international entities, including the US entity
- Cross-border and intercompany positioning with transfer pricing documentation
- Monthly tax provisioning, reconciliations, and reporting at month-end close
- Assessment of tax impact from new products, campaigns, and business models in partnership with product and operations teams
- Development of tax processes, controls, and documentation to maintain audit readiness and monitor regulatory changes across jurisdictions
You will be expected to move fast, make strong decisions with incomplete information, take real ownership, and think like an operator. The role emphasizes building processes and controls from scratch rather than maintaining existing systems.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of tax experience with strong hands-on knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax and VAT, and KSA Zakat, VAT, and WHT
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred
- Exposure to multi-jurisdiction tax compliance
- Proficiency in ERP systems (MS Dynamics or similar) and advanced Excel
- Fluency in English (required)
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience implementing e-invoicing
- US tax exposure
- Experience in fintech, payments, or high-growth environments
