Confido is an AI infrastructure platform serving 200+ CPG brands (OLIPOP, Simple Mills, Dr. Squatch, Tropicana) to unify finance, accounting, sales, and operations. The company is growing 5x year-over-year with a small team in NYC. As a Senior Applied AI/ML Engineer, you will own AI problems end-to-end—research, prototyping, production deployment, and evaluation—across three core domains: document understanding, demand forecasting, and agentic workflows. Key responsibilities include: - Build LLM systems that transform complex, inconsistent financial documents into clean, typed, validated data that powers the platform - Design and deploy agentic workflows that retrieve and reason over fragmented enterprise systems, with production-grade evaluation harnesses and guardrails - Develop demand forecasting models across thousands of intermittent time series using classical time-series methods and gradient-boosted models, with rolling-origin backtesting and automated model selection - Handle messy real-world data: baselining, outlier/anomaly detection, entity reconciliation, and ingestion from heterogeneous sources - Own success metrics: build evaluation datasets, benchmarks, and monitoring systems for probabilistic AI systems with no single ground truth Required qualifications: 3+ years of applied AI/ML with production systems (not prototypes); depth in at least one and working fluency across multiple areas (time-series/forecasting, LLM/agentic systems, large-scale data engineering); strong evaluation and monitoring practices; product sense to translate AI capability into business outcomes; Master's degree in STEM. Nice-to-have: demand forecasting tools (Prophet, ARIMA), production agentic/RAG systems, document understanding, startup experience.
