Salary: GBP 225,000 - 255,000 / annual
Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Engineer for its Enterprise team in London to guide large UK businesses in deploying Claude AI into their operations and products. You will serve as the primary Claude Platform specialist and trusted technical advisor for enterprise customers, working across the full sales and deployment lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include partnering with Enterprise Account Executives and Applied AI Architects to move customers from initial conversation through technical evaluation, proof of value, and procurement to a decision to build on Claude. You will lead the technical evaluation phase, then remain the customer's technical advisor throughout deployment. You will help customer engineering teams understand how to build on Claude, covering architecture, agent design, and evaluation frameworks. A critical part of the role is building and presenting business value cases to C-level and senior executives, translating technical capabilities into measurable outcomes around cost, revenue, risk, and time to market.
You will guide customers through complex, multi-stakeholder procurement processes, including security and architecture reviews, navigating UK GDPR, compliance, data residency, and governance requirements. You will coordinate with systems integration partners to define target architectures and ensure successful delivery. Additionally, you will feed patterns and insights from enterprise engagements back to Anthropic's Product and Engineering teams, and travel to customer sites across the UK as needed.

Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder
- Pre-sales or technical advisory experience selling into large enterprises, ideally in the UK, including owning the technical win (evaluations, proofs of concept, due diligence with security, legal, and procurement)
- Experience with value-based selling and presenting business cases to C-level and VP-level stakeholders
- Production experience with LLM-powered applications, including prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, evaluation frameworks, and deployment at scale
- Familiarity with enterprise security, compliance, and architecture requirements, ideally in regulated sectors
- Ability to explain complex AI concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience in a field relevant to the role
