Cognition AI, maker of Devin (the first AI software engineer), is hiring Applied AI Engineers to operationalize AI modernization at the enterprise level. This is a customer-facing technical role where you'll embed with engineering teams to drive deep adoption of Devin and agentic AI workflows.
You'll own end-to-end customer outcomes: architecting and implementing AI-powered workflows across engineering, QA, support, data, and product functions. You'll lead interactive enablement programs including live workshops and pair-programming sessions, guide teams through Devin configuration and optimization, and pair-program on production problems to demonstrate high-value usage patterns.
A key part of the role is quantifying impact—tracking productivity metrics, surfacing ROI stories, and making the business case for expanding Devin adoption within accounts. You'll also work with leadership to scale field learnings into repeatable playbooks and best practices that can be deployed across hundreds of thousands of engineers.
As one of the first Applied AI Engineers, you'll shape the function itself, turning individual customer engagements into structured enablement models and partner-driven programs.
Requirements: STEM degree or equivalent hands-on experience; 3+ years as a software engineer, technical consultant, deployment strategist, forward-deployed engineer, or solutions engineer with strong coding proficiency (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar); proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences; track record of driving technical adoption and measurable impact in engineering organizations; strong commercial instincts; excellent communication skills; ability to learn and adapt fast.
You'll excel if you've led developer enablement or platform adoption initiatives with measurable before/after metrics, deployed LLM or agent-based systems in production, joined early-stage startups where autonomy and execution speed were critical, or are energized by compounding team velocity through deliberate engineering.
