Overview.ai is a fast-growing US AI startup deploying GPU-powered computer vision systems to manufacturing. The company solves inspection problems previously unsolvable with traditional machine vision, operating a full-stack platform: edge inference on deployed cameras, cloud coordination, and fleet management across global production lines.
In this role, you will lead a team of applications engineers (vision, controls, mechanical) and technicians to deliver end-to-end AI inspection deployments at scale. You own the complete deployment lifecycle: from contract signature through production stabilization and handoff to customer operations. Your core responsibilities include:
**Deployment Execution:** Own delivery schedules, staffing, and readiness across multiple factories and production lines. Drive deployments to stable, accepted systems with clear customer handoff. Build repeatable playbooks that reduce time-to-production and increase customer self-sufficiency.
**Team Leadership:** Lead a high-performance field team across regions. Set execution standards (daily/weekly cadence, escalation paths, documentation, quality bars). Coach teams to operate effectively under pressure when production is on the line.
**Customer Stakeholder Leadership:** Serve as the on-the-ground leader with factory process, quality, automation, and management teams. Manage scope ruthlessly to protect outcomes and prevent creep. Drive urgency by aligning customer resources, line access, and decision-making.
**Operational Infrastructure:** Participate in building scalable deployment operations: onboarding frameworks, training, commissioning templates, project dashboards, post-mortems, and continuous improvement. Track key metrics: deployment cycle time, blockers, time-to-stability, acceptance rates, expansion readiness.
**Product Feedback:** Translate field pain points into product roadmap improvements. Work with global engineering and product teams to remove recurring friction through better diagnostics, workflows, installation standards, tooling, and documentation.
Success means deployments become predictable and faster, customers trust Overview.ai to scale across lines and factories, your team operates as an elite unit with strong execution and morale, and field reality drives meaningful product improvements.
**Requirements:**
- Proven track record leading complex, multi-site technical deployments in manufacturing environments
- Strong program/project management: ability to run multiple workstreams, prioritize ruthlessly, and keep teams aligned
- Experience leading teams (hiring, training, performance management, developing individual contributors)
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management across factory floor, customer executives, and global teams
- High ownership, high discipline, high energy; self-directed execution
- Fluent Mandarin, English, and Vietnamese (written and spoken) for global coordination and customer executive communication
- Ability and willingness to travel to China, Vietnam, and the US (factory locations)
- Strong automation background to guide and decide on hard technical decisions
**Strongly Preferred:**
- Experience in high-tempo environments
- Familiarity with AI inspection, machine vision, or automation deployments
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, incomplete information, and shifting constraints without losing momentum
