Isar Aerospace is seeking an Application Software Engineer to join the Ground Systems Engineering Applications team. You will develop and maintain desktop applications that enable testing and operation of launch vehicles, directly supporting critical ground operations and engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain desktop applications using C#, .NET, and WPF
- Automate engineering workflows to improve operational efficiency
- Design scalable, maintainable software architectures
- Optimize performance, responsiveness, and user experience
- Extend internal libraries and deliver elegant technical solutions
- Create technical and user documentation
Required qualifications:
- Proven experience developing desktop applications with C#, .NET, and WPF (or similar technologies like Avalonia or MAUI)
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles
- Experience with architectural patterns (MVVM, MVC, MVP)
- Proficiency with Git version control
- Experience with unit testing, ideally NUnit and test-driven development
- Commitment to clean code principles and high-quality, maintainable software
Bonus skills:
- REST API experience
- Infrastructure, cloud services, and networking knowledge
- Experience with major front-end frameworks (preferably React)
- Aerospace engineering domain familiarity
