ICEYE is seeking an AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control Systems) Engineer to join the Spacecraft Analysis, Orbit and Attitude Control Engineering team. You will work with a constellation of 40+ Earth-observation SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellites, managing attitude and orbit control expertise across the full AOCS lifecycle—from design through on-orbit maintenance.
Key responsibilities include analyzing and improving on-orbit performance of AOCS components, leading market studies and trade evaluations for new ADCS and propulsion hardware, defining and executing verification procedures for AOCS components, and leading anomaly investigations to identify root causes. You will maintain and improve operational procedures, drive process improvements affecting the entire in-orbit constellation, and partner with satellite operations, radar, mechanical, electronics, manufacturing, and product teams.
Required qualifications: BS/MS in Physics, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field; 2-4 years of experience designing, operating, or testing AOCS equipment or spacecraft hardware; strong understanding of AOCS fundamentals including rigid body motion, differential equations, coordinate transformations, 3D geometry, feedback loops, and state estimation; solid understanding of astrodynamics and attitude determination and control principles; working knowledge of Python and Git; and experience with electronic lab hardware such as power supplies and oscilloscopes.
Desirable qualifications include experience in multi-disciplinary environments (electrical, controls, mechanical, thermal), flight dynamics software or libraries (STK, GMAT), GNSS experience, and C++ proficiency. The role is permanent, hybrid-based in Espoo, Finland or Warsaw, Poland, and reports to the Engineering Lead for AOCS Hardware. Employment is subject to applicable security screening.
