As an Antenna Engineer (Automation), you will drive characterization and verification of next-generation antenna products for satellite and RF systems. Your core responsibilities include designing and owning key performance indicators (KPIs) across passive and active antenna products, developing automated scripting and processes for data collection, and collaborating with antenna, RF, test, and mechanical engineers across a wide range of antenna products operating in bands from 1GHz to 30GHz.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain antenna performance matrices and KPI frameworks for passive and active antennas
- Implement scripts to control RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, antenna pattern measurement infrastructure, power meters, power supplies, and other devices
- Plan and execute verification campaigns to evaluate early prototype device performance against desired specifications
- Analyze raw antenna pattern data to generate reports, detail compliance with internal and regulatory specifications, and advise designers on improvement opportunities
- Design and implement fixtures to evaluate design compatibility with other satellite subsystems and RF coexistence
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years experience writing Python, LabView, TILE, or other automation software
- Experience writing scripts for wireless systems or hardware infrastructure testing
- Experience developing KPI frameworks for antenna, RF, or electrical products
- Proficient in testing and troubleshooting test setups and/or RF devices
- Strong understanding of antenna parameters such as directivity, gain, efficiency, and axial ratio
- Experience writing and documenting procedures for use by other engineers and technicians
- Strong software debugging skills
