Carv is building AI-powered coaching software to help skiers improve their technique through real-time feedback and sensor-driven data. The company combines biomechanics, AI, and mobile technology to create a game-changing product in digital sports training.
As an Android Engineer, you will drive the development of Carv's Android app, building features that feel seamless, powerful, and intuitive. Your responsibilities include:
• Build and ship features across the Android app, from UI to data layer
• Work closely with designers and product managers to create intuitive, high-performance interfaces
• Contribute to real-time coaching features powered by AI and sensor data, and test these on the ski slope
• Learn from and contribute to architectural decisions alongside senior engineers
• Keep up with Android advancements and help the team adopt new best practices
You'll work in a small, fast-moving team where scope is broad and priorities shift quickly. The role offers autonomy and direct impact on the product roadmap. The team is based in Park City, UT, with hybrid work (3 days per week in office on average). Core business hours are 8am–4pm Mountain Time, with occasional flexibility for UK overlap calls and busy periods. Average workload is ~50 hours per week.
Requirements:
• Experience shipping production Android apps with examples you're proud of
• Strong Kotlin and Jetpack Compose skills
• Passionate about skiing (beginner skiers welcome)
• Relentless bias for action and comfort working in a small, high-velocity team
• Ability to work collaboratively with designers and product managers
