Tandem Health is reimagining healthcare by building an intuitive clinical platform designed by and for clinicians. As an Analytics Engineer, you'll own the data layer that powers the entire company—dbt models, metrics, and semantic definitions—working embedded with product, clinical ops, commercial, and finance teams rather than in a request queue. You'll translate business questions into clear, trustworthy answers delivered in the format teams actually use, then verify those answers drove real decisions. You'll build self-serve analytics surfaces and documentation so teams can answer their own questions. Proactively surface patterns, risks, and opportunities in the data. Own data quality through testing, monitoring, and clear dataset ownership. Bring the analytics perspective into platform decisions about what data tools and capabilities to invest in next. The role sits in a small but growing data team at an early stage where everyone contributes across the full scope. As the company scales, this role will likely specialize toward either product or commercial analytics—you'll help shape which direction. You bring excellent SQL skills, hands-on experience building and maintaining a production modeling layer (dbt or equivalent), and a business-minded approach that pushes back when the stated question isn't the real question. Strong communication skills are essential—you present to rooms, explain methods to non-technical stakeholders, and argue your point without hiding behind jargon. You care deeply about whether your work actually landed and changed decisions. Bonus experience includes Python for analysis and scripting, embedded work with product/commercial/finance teams, healthtech or regulated-environment background, and early-stage startup experience building from near-zero.
