Join Lightspeed's Financial Services division as an Analytics Engineer on the FS Data team. You'll be responsible for overseeing analytics and reporting needs across the Financial Services domain, working with stakeholders to build reports and data models that drive business decisions.
Key responsibilities include: cleansing and transforming raw data into business logic; analyzing data and recommending optimal data sources; ensuring data quality and usability across the organization; collaborating with the Central Data Team to build data pipelines using shared best practices; writing performant, maintainable SQL and Python queries with version control and CI/CD; automating data model testing and validations; defining internal standards for data models and infrastructure; and maintaining or developing dashboards in Looker.
You'll work across multiple functions including Application Engineering, Product, Operations, Risk, and Finance. The role requires strong technical skills in SQL, Python, and MPP data warehouses (BigQuery), along with experience in dbt or dataform, data profiling, data quality validation, and GCP. You should understand data warehousing standards, containerization, source control, CI/CD, and compliance protocols (SOX, GDPR).
Excellent communication skills are essential—you'll explain complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, independent, collaborative, and has strong problem-solving abilities. Experience in payments or financial services, SaaS solutions, and cloud services (AWS/GCP) is a bonus.
