As an Analytics Engineer at OnePay, you will own the analytics foundation—including dbt models, testing, and Databricks BI—enabling the business to move fast on trusted data. You'll design and build production dbt models on Databricks that serve as the organization's source of truth for business metrics. You'll support external reporting with accurate, governed data for stakeholders and partners, and own data quality through testing, CI/CD, documentation, and team patterns.
Key responsibilities include building and evolving Databricks dashboards and semantic metrics for self-service analytics across the business, partnering with Data Engineering and analytics stakeholders to transform business problems into durable data products, and driving AI-native workflows using tools like Cursor and Claude in daily development. You'll design models and documentation that work for both human analysts and LLM consumers.
The role operates in a fast-moving startup environment where you'll execute in ambiguity, work with incomplete specifications, and maintain a bias toward shipping. You'll communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences and demonstrate an owner mentality—identifying what's broken, fixing it, and raising the bar for the team.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years in analytics engineering or equivalent experience
- Owned production models end-to-end (not just ad hoc analysis)
- Expert SQL and deep dbt experience (architecture, incremental models, tests, macros, CI/CD)
- Strong Databricks BI or equivalent semantic layer delivery
- AI-savvy in practice: daily use of AI coding tools, rigorous output validation, and ability to design data for both humans and agents
- Proven ability to execute in ambiguity with startup pace and incomplete specifications
- Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences
- Owner mentality and bias toward shipping
