Stedi is a Series B-funded healthcare clearinghouse and RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) engine built on modern, API-first architecture. The company has raised $142M from top-tier investors including Stripe, Addition, USV, Bloomberg Beta, and First Round Capital, and is recognized as one of the fastest-growing SaaS vendors.
You will be Stedi's first dedicated revenue accounting hire, owning revenue accounting and customer billing as the business scales. This is a foundational role where you will establish core processes, controls, and systems from the ground up.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead month-end close and audit readiness activities, including revenue schedules, journal entries, and GL reconciliations
- Perform detailed contract analysis for non-standard arrangements and determine ASC 606 revenue recognition treatment
- Own end-to-end customer billing: validate usage and contract data, issue invoices and credits, resolve billing exceptions
- Modernize revenue accounting infrastructure with a focus on scalability and automation, reimagining the flow from billing through recognition and collections
- Maintain and evolve revenue recognition policy across a growing product portfolio
- Partner cross-functionally to close process gaps, improve customer experience, and enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Support external audits with PBC schedules and auditor responses
- Build and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and controls that enable audit readiness
You will work directly with transaction data, document complex accounting decisions, and drive process changes through implementation. The role emphasizes a builder's mindset: using automation, modern tools, and AI to reduce manual work and create financial systems that are faster, more reliable, and less dependent on manual processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a revenue accounting or revenue operations role in a high-growth SaaS environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
- Deep expertise in ASC 606, with experience recognizing revenue in usage-based or consumption-based billing models
- Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end billing or order-to-cash processes, not just accounting entries
- Proven ability to build and scale revenue accounting processes (close, reconciliations, controls) in high-growth environments
- Highly technical with ability to automate workflows, work directly with underlying data, and leverage modern tools and AI
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, create structure from chaos, and independently design scalable processes from scratch
- Relentless and resourceful problem-solver who investigates discrepancies until root causes are understood
- Ability to move fast with precision, operating with clarity, accountability, and urgency
