Salary: USD 140,000 - 260,000 / annual

Archer Technologies is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft designed to carry four passengers with minimal noise, advancing sustainable air mobility. In this Algorithm Engineer role, you will develop and mature mission planning, multi-platform coordination, and onboard decision-making algorithms for autonomous aircraft systems. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing path and motion planning algorithms for single- and multi-agent systems, developing optimization and decision-making approaches for operation under uncertainty, and integrating algorithms with the broader onboard software stack. You will validate system behaviors through simulation and field testing, and collaborate closely with perception, navigation, and integration teams to field robust multi-agent systems. Required qualifications include strong proficiency in C++ and Python, hands-on experience with path/motion planning algorithms, experience with multi-agent or distributed coordination algorithms, experience with optimization and decision-making under uncertainty, and familiarity with ROS 2. Bonus qualifications include experience fielding multi-agent systems on real hardware, background in subscale aircraft, robotics, or autonomy applications, and experience with simulation environments for multi-agent testing. This is an onsite position based in San Jose, California. Visa sponsorship is not available. The role offers a competitive base pay range of $140,000–$260,000, with actual compensation determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
