ICEYE is seeking an AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test) Engineer - Electronics to lead the electrical integration and test of satellite hardware at our Athens facility. You will be the technical authority for electrical and electronic systems, responsible for transforming satellite electrical designs into flight-ready hardware.
Key responsibilities include:
**AIT Process Definition & Industrialization**: Define electrical MAITE (Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, Test, Evaluation) processes for sub-assemblies and satellites. Qualify critical integration and test processes, establish acceptance criteria and standardized procedures, and specify test means, tooling and workstations. Lead the transition from prototype to series production to achieve high throughput.
**Design Maturity & Co-Engineering**: Partner with Engineering from concept phase through design maturity reviews (PDR, CDR, PRR, IRR, TRR). Apply design for manufacturing, assembly and testability (DFM, DFA, DFT) principles. Ensure designs are production-ready and identify industrial risks early.
**Electrical Integration & Assembly**: Own integration readiness of satellite electrical subsystems (avionics, power, data handling, communications). Lead electrical integration including harness routing, connections, grounding and bonding. Establish and maintain electrical build standards for crimping, soldering, connector handling, cleanliness and ESD discipline. Oversee PCB assembly and rework.
**Functional & Environmental Test**: Plan and lead functional, interface and performance test campaigns at subsystem and satellite level. Support environmental testing (EMC, thermal vacuum, vibration). Develop automated test scripts, monitor telemetry and respond to electrical anomalies with root cause analysis.
**Electrical Ground Support Equipment**: Specify, design and validate EGSE and flatsat configurations for functional and environmental testing.
**Supplier Management**: Act as technical authority for electronic parts and assemblies from suppliers. Define inspections, workmanship criteria and First Article Inspection requirements.
**Configuration & Documentation**: Maintain as-built electrical configuration, traceability and engineering change control. Troubleshoot integration issues and support root cause analysis.
You will work on-site in Athens with occasional travel for environmental testing and launch campaigns. The role reports to the AIT Engineering Team Leader and is part of ICEYE's Global Manufacturing Organisation. ICEYE operates the world's largest SAR satellite constellation, serving defense, intelligence, environmental monitoring and emergency management customers globally.
