Flexport is a global logistics platform that moves over $19B in merchandise annually across 112 countries. The Air Planning Associate role is a critical operational position supporting Flexport's air freight forwarding business in the Seoul region.
On the export side, you will manage capacity and fulfillment of charter flights and blocked space with carriers/partners, optimize margins through shipment consolidation, coordinate closely with partners on movement, maintain consol plans linking flight schedules and buy rates, and ensure cargo is loaded, secured, tracked, and declared per airline regulations. You'll work with external parties including carriers and terminals for capacity coordination.
On the import side, you will coordinate clearance and de-consolidation of import shipments, interact with import partners to resolve exceptions, and ensure smooth regional operations.
Continuous improvement responsibilities include working with the tech team to build and enhance Flexport's Air Planning Tool, handling customer inquiries about cargo services, ensuring regulatory compliance, following up on cargo status and delivery, and providing customer service to troubleshoot issues.
You will be the direct point of contact for partners, carriers, and internal teams, supporting Flexport's end customers in achieving their logistics goals. The role involves day-to-day operational management, coordination across multiple stakeholders, and occasional flexibility for off-hours work when needed.
Required qualifications: BA/BS degree with 2-3 years of air freight forwarding or logistics experience. You should have a track record of success in operational or planning roles, strong process orientation and problem-solving capabilities, client service mindset, excellent communication and organizational skills, and willingness to work flexibly including occasional weekend or night shifts.
