This AI Software Tech Lead role sits within Aidoc's AI Engineering group, bridging algorithm research and production systems. You will own the design and development of AI-driven infrastructure and components that enable robust, scalable model training and serving. The position is highly hands-on: you'll drive complex technical work, set high standards for design and code quality, and mentor engineers while collaborating closely with Algo, Product, and Engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include building AI-specific infrastructure for model training and deployment; staying deeply involved in technical execution while establishing architectural standards; owning project-level architecture and key technical decisions; promoting engineering excellence through mentorship and clean code practices; communicating progress and decisions clearly to stakeholders; and continuously evaluating new tools and frameworks (cloud infrastructure, orchestration, MLOps) to improve scalability.
You'll need 7+ years of software engineering experience with proven technical ownership of complex systems. Demonstrated experience designing and delivering AI systems from architecture through deployment is essential, along with a track record of leading others technically—providing insight, seeing non-obvious solutions, and engaging stakeholders collaboratively. Strong proficiency in Python and modern ML/DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) is required, plus solid computer science fundamentals in system design, distributed systems, and performance optimization. Familiarity with cloud and MLOps environments (Docker, Kubernetes, model-serving frameworks) is expected. A Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) is preferred. Healthcare or medical imaging experience is a plus.
