Relativity Space is building Terran R, a commercial rocket vehicle designed to deliver payloads to orbit. The Terrestrial Software team, specifically the AI, Data and Platform Engineering group, is seeking an AI Software Engineer to help build AI systems used by engineers and operators across the company.
In this role, you will work across the full software development lifecycle—from concept and design through implementation and ongoing iteration. You'll build AI-powered applications and agents on top of foundation models (Claude and others), ensuring they are reliable and performant in production environments. You'll follow agile development practices, ship quality software with continuous integration and deployment, and solve complex problems with elegant solutions.
You'll work directly with users and stakeholder teams across design, materials, manufacturing, and test/launch to define requirements, implement solutions, and iterate rapidly. The team is small, high-ownership, and ships quickly while treating reliability and evaluation as first-class concerns.
Key technologies include Python, React, TypeScript, and Go for application development. You'll work with foundation models, agent and orchestration frameworks, retrieval and vector search systems, and LLM evaluation tooling. Data infrastructure includes Spark, Iceberg, DuckDB, Redshift, DBT, Postgres, and MongoDB. Cloud and infrastructure work spans AWS, Kubernetes (both cloud and on-premises), Terraform, and Helm.
