As an AI Platform Engineer on the AI Mining team, you will own the data infrastructure layer that powers skill mining capabilities. Your responsibilities include managing BigQuery datasets and schemas, cloud storage, service accounts and IAM policies, Vertex AI pipeline infrastructure, Dataform integration, and event streaming resources. You will build and maintain automated pipelines that move data into place—including scheduled jobs, data copy pipelines, and backfill orchestration—ensuring the right data is available when needed by the mining team.
Your work sits at the intersection of data engineering and infrastructure, providing the foundation that AI engineers, data scientists, and product engineers depend on to ship features. You will be paired with a peer and manager during onboarding to gain context and support before owning work independently. Early responsibilities include shipping infrastructure changes such as new datasets, storage resources, IAM policies, or schema updates that unblock the mining team. As you progress, you will own core data infrastructure components including BigQuery datasets, preprocessing storage buckets, service accounts, and access policies across environments. You will partner closely with AI and data science engineers to translate new pipeline and data requirements into provisioned, governed infrastructure. The role involves exposure to open source technologies the company depends on, with opportunities to contribute back to those communities.
