Scopely's AI-native incubation team is seeking an AI Game Developer to join their mission of discovering the next generation of mobile games. Rather than spending years on a single title, the team rapidly transforms ideas into playable experiences, launches them to real players, and learns from live market feedback. This role pioneers a new approach to game creation where AI enables creators to work across traditional discipline boundaries—whether your background is engineering, design, art, or another discipline, you'll contribute across the full game development process. Key responsibilities include: - Owning game ideas from concept through launch, generating concepts and shaping mechanics and player experiences - Rapidly transforming concepts into playable prototypes using AI-native workflows, modern game engines, and development tools - Using AI to accelerate programming, design, art, content creation, testing, and production - Designing internal tools, automations, and agentic workflows to increase team velocity - Evaluating emerging AI technologies and experimenting with new applications in game development - Collaborating across disciplines to rapidly iterate on gameplay and features - Launching prototypes to real players, analyzing feedback, and iterating based on insights - Balancing speed and quality through thoughtful trade-offs that maximize learning - Helping define AI development practices that scale across Scopely - Challenging traditional game development workflows and pioneering new approaches You should have strong expertise in at least one game development discipline (engineering, design, art, technical art, or UX), enthusiasm for using AI to expand beyond your primary discipline, and experience incorporating AI into creative workflows. You thrive on building, testing, and learning rather than lengthy planning cycles, and you have strong product instincts about what makes games engaging. You work effectively through ambiguity and rapid iteration informed by player feedback, with excellent communication and collaborative skills.
