As an AI Field Engineer on the Enterprise track, you will be the technical lead embedded with Fireworks' largest and most strategic customers. This is a hands-on role that bridges engineering, product, and customer success. You will spend most of your time building—shipping code, running benchmarks, debugging production systems, and architecting deployments—while also leading discovery conversations and translating customer needs into product improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
**Technical Delivery**: Build end-to-end POCs and MVPs alongside customer engineering teams. Architect inference foundations for GenAI-native products. Run load tests and optimize deployments for latency, throughput, and cost. Deploy and validate new model families on inference frameworks (vLLM, SGLang), determining optimal quantization and serving patterns.
**Model Strategy**: Guide customers on model selection, fine-tuning strategies (SFT, DPO, RFT), and evaluation methodology. Build and run fine-tuning pipelines directly with customers. Design evaluation frameworks that measure production-quality metrics.
**Customer Engagement**: Lead structured discovery conversations to understand pain points and success criteria. Own the technical relationship from first engagement through production deployment. Spend significant time on-site with customers, building trust and embedding with their teams.
**Product Feedback**: Identify recurring customer pain points and translate them into concrete product proposals. Codify repeatable deployment patterns and contribute to internal tooling and documentation. Feed customer signals back into the product roadmap.
You will work with large organizations and digital-native companies adopting GenAI across their business. These engagements span multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles, requiring you to manage executive relationships while staying hands-on in the code. The emphasis is on pairing strong technical delivery with executive presence to earn trust across an organization.
