Fireworks is a Series D AI platform company (valued at $17.5B) enabling enterprises to build, train, and serve specialized AI models tailored to their data and workflows. Founded by the PyTorch team and backed by AMD, NVIDIA, Sequoia, and others, Fireworks powers production AI across text, image, embedding, audio, and multimodal workloads.
As an AI Field Engineer in the EMEA region, you will be the technical tip of the spear, embedding with enterprise customers and technology partners to turn complex AI problems into production systems. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer delivery.
You will spend most of your time building: shipping code, running benchmarks, debugging production issues, and architecting deployments. You will also lead discovery conversations, align stakeholders, and translate customer pain points into product improvements that feed back to the roadmap.
Key responsibilities include:
**Technical Delivery**: Build end-to-end POCs and MVPs alongside customer engineering teams. Architect inference foundations for GenAI-native products. Run load tests and establish latency, throughput, and cost baselines. Deploy and validate new model families on inference frameworks (vLLM, SGLang), optimizing quantization configs and serving patterns.
**Model Strategy**: Guide customers on model selection, fine-tuning strategy (SFT, DPO, RFT), and evaluation methodology. Build and run fine-tuning pipelines directly with customers. Design evaluation frameworks that measure production-quality metrics.
**Customer Engagement**: Lead structured discovery conversations to unpack customer pain points and success criteria. Own the technical relationship from first engagement through production deployment. Spend time on-site with customers, embedding with their teams and building trust with ML engineers and executives.
**Product Feedback**: Identify recurring customer pain points and translate them into concrete product proposals. Codify repeatable deployment patterns and contribute to internal tooling and documentation. Feed customer signals back into the product roadmap with specificity.
You will work with large organizations and digital-native companies adopting GenAI across the business. These engagements span multiple stakeholders and longer cycles, requiring you to manage executive relationships while staying hands-on in code. The emphasis is on pairing strong technical delivery with executive presence to earn trust across organizations.
