Nightfall AI is building an AI-native, unified data loss prevention and insider risk management platform that detects and prevents data exfiltration across SaaS apps, GenAI tools, email, and endpoints. The company is backed by leading VCs including Bain Capital Ventures, Venrock, and WestBridge Capital, with advisors including the founders of Okta and Mandiant.
As an AI Engineer on the AI Engineering team, you will design, build, and ship the machine learning systems that power Nightfall's security products. You'll work hands-on with Python to develop and fine-tune NLP and other model architectures, benchmark model accuracy, build automated training and deployment pipelines, and design agentic workflows. You'll also use Go to build microservices that ingest and process data at scale using streaming infrastructure, distributed caching, and concurrent execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and shipping AI systems that power security products
- Experimenting with model architectures and the latest LLMs
- Fine-tuning models, monitoring accuracy, and automating training/deployment
- Designing real-time inferencing and agentic workflows
- Collaborating across engineering and product to turn ideas into live features
- Participating in oncall rotation for operational excellence
You should have 5+ years of industry experience with a graduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering with rigorous AI/ML coursework. You must code fluently in Python and Go (or C++/Java), with hands-on experience building deep learning models at production scale and delivering end-to-end AI projects. Experience with PyTorch, LLM fine-tuning, agentic workflows, AWS/GCP, Kafka, Redis, and MLOps is highly valued. The role offers hybrid work (3 days in-office) from the Bangalore office, working with a tight-knit team of AI/ML builders who ship fast and mentor deeply.
