OpusClip is hiring an AI Engineering Lead to build and scale AI/ML systems for the world's leading AI video agent platform. With 10M+ creators using the platform and $50M in funding from top-tier investors (SoftBank Vision Fund, DCM Ventures, Samsung Next), this is a high-impact role at a rapidly growing company.
You will lead a small, high-performing AI team while maintaining hands-on technical depth. Your responsibilities include:
• Shipping AI/ML models from prototype to production at scale, with expertise in model post-training (fine-tuning, preference optimization, evaluation)
• Building data flywheels that convert user behavior and feedback into continuous model improvements
• Optimizing inference for self-hosted models, focusing on latency, throughput, GPU utilization, quantization, and serving cost
• Developing robust model evaluation frameworks combining offline benchmarks, human evaluation, online experiments, and product metrics
• Applying LLMs and multimodal models to video-specific challenges: highlight detection, content curation, ranking, personalization, and editing decisions
• Working with vision-language models, ASR/transcription, video understanding, and enhancement/upscaling systems
• Making strategic build-vs-buy decisions across proprietary APIs, open-source models, and internally trained solutions
• Setting technical roadmap, reviewing architecture, mentoring engineers, and managing team growth
• Balancing model quality, latency, reliability, and infrastructure cost with a product-oriented, pragmatic mindset
Ideal candidates have shipped consumer video or creator tools at scale, worked on recommendation/content systems, or built high-scale multimodal products. You combine deep technical expertise in AI/ML with emerging people-management skills and a passion for creator empowerment.
