Build is an AI company creating an agentic AI stack for institutional real estate, automating complex development and acquisitions workflows 90% faster than humans. The company partners with major institutions including Tier 1 alternative asset investors, prolific developers, and governments to accelerate built-world projects from concept to completion.
As an AI Engineer - Workflows, you will own the modular operations that compose Build's workflows. Your core responsibilities include building and maintaining a library of reusable operations, identifying where outputs fall short of quality standards and fixing underlying capabilities, and developing evaluation harnesses to measure improvements. You'll work closely with domain experts to encode what "correct" means in real estate and infrastructure contexts, ensuring that senior professionals at major institutions can act on Build's outputs without question.
Key aspects of the role:
- Build, own, and improve modular operations that form the foundation of Build's workflows
- Conduct failure analysis to understand why outputs miss the mark
- Create evaluation frameworks that rigorously prove whether changes improve quality
- Reduce the need for human review without compromising standards
- Maintain composability of the capability library as it scales
- Own quality end-to-end, from prompt engineering to delivered artifacts
The ideal candidate has experience building evaluations (not just running them) and is comfortable operating within standards set by domain experts rather than their own. You should be relentless about quality, comfortable with ambiguity, and driven by the mission to accelerate the world's most important built projects. Build values velocity, excellence, long-term thinking, ownership, integrity, and measurable results. The company operates with intensity and offers radical autonomy, meaningful equity, and the opportunity to learn what it takes to build a generational company.
