Thunes is a global fintech infrastructure company operating a Direct Global Network that enables real-time payments across 130+ countries and 80+ currencies. The network connects to over 7 billion mobile wallets and bank accounts via 350+ payment methods, serving clients like Uber, Deliveroo, Grab, and WeChat.
We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to architect and deploy production-grade generative AI systems for our fintech platform. This role combines startup agility with the rigor required in regulated financial services, moving beyond simple chatbots to build stateful agentic systems and multimodal RAG pipelines that reason across text, charts, and financial tables.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting production-grade RAG workflows on AWS/GCP using tools like LangGraph and LlamaIndex, building agents capable of planning multi-step financial tasks
- Implementing multimodal reasoning pipelines that ingest and reason over mixed-media financial documents (charts, graphs, tables)
- Conducting red team adversarial testing to stress-test models against prompt injection, jailbreaking, and PII leakage
- Defining quantitative evaluation metrics using tools like DeepEval to measure model faithfulness and relevancy, validating upgrades and cost optimization
- Owning full deployment autonomy: containerizing solutions with Docker and deploying via GitLab CI to cloud infrastructure
- Implementing deterministic guardrails (NeMo Guardrails, Guardrails AI) to enforce JSON schemas and block non-compliant financial advice
Required qualifications: 5+ years AI engineering experience with 2+ years building and deploying NLP/GenAI solutions in production. Multi-cloud fluency (AWS, GCP), expert-level GenAI orchestration (LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex), proficiency with evaluation and monitoring tools (DeepEval, LangSmith, Langfuse), strong MLOps skills (GitLab CI, Docker), Python expertise (Pydantic, FastAPI), hands-on vector database experience (Vertex AI Vector Search, Weaviate, Milvus, pgvector), and knowledge of adversarial testing frameworks. Bachelor's in STEM required. Fintech experience and ML certifications (Google Professional ML Engineer or AWS ML Specialty) strongly preferred.
