HyperProof is transforming the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) software space with an innovative platform that helps organizations streamline their risk and compliance workflows. The company recently raised $40 million in Series B funding and is growing rapidly with a collaborative startup environment.
You will join the engineering team as a Mid-Senior AI Engineer, working closely with peers and the product team to develop AI-forward features for the core platform. Your focus will be on building intelligent services and agents that help customers automate everyday compliance tasks. Given the compliance domain, verifiable results, provable outcomes, and robust guardrails are critical aspects of AI feature development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, deploy, and manage AI agents using modern agentic technologies within defined constraint spaces and safety guardrails
- Develop and optimize complex RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines for high recall and precision
- Partner with product managers to translate industry requirements into technical specifications using spec-driven development
- Integrate foundation models via APIs for use cases like document summarization and intelligent search
- Establish and apply evaluation design patterns to rigorously test, measure, and improve model outputs
- Design and code robust backend architecture components using Postgres, REST APIs, queueing, storage systems, RBAC, encryption, and security
- Write automated tests, manage version control via GitHub, and build monitoring and system health metrics
- Stay current with AI advancements to keep engineering practices at the leading edge
This is a hands-on, highly technical role for someone passionate about agentic systems and creating tangible product impact. The role requires availability to work during afternoon and evening hours India Standard Time to facilitate collaboration with distributed engineering teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, including 18+ months working directly on AI-powered features, agents, or applications
- Deep, practical experience using Claude Code
- Hands-on experience building AI applications and integrating LLM-based features in production
- Strong familiarity with RAG architectures (recall and precision metrics) and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate)
- Proven ability to build and manage AI agents with solid understanding of agent technologies, constraint spaces, and evaluation design patterns
- Strong proficiency in backend development with deep experience in Postgres and asynchronous programming (Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Go, and/or Java)
- Experience managing codebases and collaborative workflows using GitHub
- Experience working with REST APIs using JSON and delivering scalable, reliable, maintainable software
- Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS for deployment, debugging, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field
