Artera is hiring an AI Builder to design and deploy agentic systems that improve patient experiences across healthcare workflows—scheduling, referral coordination, medication refills, billing, and payment estimation. You'll own end-to-end delivery for named customer segments, combining product discovery, technical architecture, hands-on development, and production operations. In this role, you'll work as a fully contributing builder within a customer-facing squad, bringing AI-native fluency to solve real healthcare provider challenges. You'll represent Artera credibly in customer conversations, translate operational pain points into technical solutions, and architect and code using internal agentic systems. You'll develop deep subject-matter expertise in healthcare domains (e.g., primary care, orthopedics) and integration surfaces (EHR, scheduling, patient messaging), then mentor newer builders on agentic techniques and customer-centric approaches. Key responsibilities include: owning customer outcomes independently with moderate supervision; identifying customer pain and building roadmaps; aligning stakeholders and managing onboarding; building novel agentic solutions; instrumenting and improving production reliability; and contributing to squad-level prioritization alongside the Head of Segment. You'll bring 1–3 years of professional experience in software engineering, data science, machine learning, product management, or technical project management. You must demonstrate AI-native fluency—the ability to produce output equivalent to multiple traditional engineers using AI-native tools (Claude Code in terminal) as your primary environment. You need a track record of shipping end-to-end production solutions with follow-on enhancements, strong customer-facing skills, and the curiosity of a product manager paired with project management discipline. Written and verbal communication should be clear enough to present complex concepts to teammates, managers, and customers. Bonus qualifications include prior healthcare technology or digital health experience, hands-on production agentic systems or RAG pipeline work, and familiarity with HIPAA, HITRUST, or FedRAMP compliance. Artera, founded in 2015 and trusted by 1,000+ specialties and health systems, has been recognized as an Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing company, Deloitte Technology Fast 500 honoree, and Built In Best Company to Work For.
