Moody's is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to join the Quality Engineering team in Charlotte. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining automated testing solutions that leverage both traditional QA practices and emerging AI technologies.
You will develop and maintain automated tests using TypeScript and Playwright across UI, API, integration, and regression testing scenarios. A core responsibility is using AI-assisted tools—such as Codex and Claude Code—to enhance automation productivity and streamline development workflows. You'll apply prompt engineering and context engineering techniques to work effectively with AI tools, and review, validate, and refine AI-generated code, test cases, and documentation to ensure quality and alignment with testing standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design reliable test cases and maintain test data and automation assets
- Build reusable automation frameworks within an Agile environment
- Integrate automated tests into GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows
- Review test results, analyze failures, and support root cause analysis
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product owners to define test requirements and acceptance criteria
- Contribute to automation standards, framework improvements, and overall product quality
The Quality Engineering team is responsible for building reliable, high-quality software and AI-enabled products. This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of traditional quality assurance and emerging AI technologies, with emphasis on responsible and ethical AI adoption.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field
- Experience with TypeScript and Playwright, or strong foundational understanding of programming and test automation concepts (UI, API, integration, regression testing)
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions and version control practices; ability to integrate and execute automated tests within CI/CD workflows
- Ability to build and maintain reusable automation frameworks and design reliable test cases
- Experience with AI-assisted tools (Codex, Claude Code, or similar) to enhance automation productivity
- Basic understanding of prompt engineering, context engineering, and general AI concepts; ability to review, validate, and refine AI-generated code and documentation
- Ability to work in Agile team environment, manage changing priorities, and collaborate effectively
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in AI concepts with hands-on experience using AI tools
- Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions and awareness of AI risk management and responsible AI use
