Wave is a fintech company building financial services across Sub-Saharan Africa, with millions of users across 9 countries. The company's mission is to make Africa the first cashless continent by providing accessible, affordable financial services including mobile money transfer, cash deposits, withdrawals, and peer-to-peer payments.
You will serve as Agent Liquidity Regional Lead, deputizing for the Agent Liquidity Lead in your assigned region. This is a data-driven operations role focused on structuring and deploying liquidity strategies to optimize cash flow solutions and anticipate demand across Wave's agent network.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and lead a skilled team in a fast-growing environment
- Develop materials and processes for a sustainable, structured liquidity department
- Monitor liquidity status nationwide, especially in your assigned region
- Develop and maintain relationships with bank partners
- Identify priority areas and develop innovative solutions to Wave's liquidity needs
- Coordinate team implementation of strategy and achieve planned OKRs in agent operations
- Supervise Premium Cash Officers and Premium Cash Assistants, managing their day-to-day activities
- Recruit, onboard, and train Premium Cash Officers and Assistants with best practices
- Monitor team daily to detect wrongdoing or theft; report risks proactively
- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports
- Conduct field research and investigations for the liquidity team
- Provide adequate support and timely communication to ensure work completion
- Prioritize the biggest problems blocking unit performance
You will be based in Kongo Central with frequent travel to field locations (50% travel within the Democratic Republic of Congo). This is a permanent position.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in team management, preferably in cash movements or cash-in-transit
- 3+ years of experience as a liquidity manager
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time within the Democratic Republic of Congo
- Bachelor's degree equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or comparable field
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
- Work authorization in Congo required
