Sarvam AI is India's leading full-stack AI company building sovereign AI infrastructure and applications for the Indian market. As an Agent Engineer, you will build production AI agents deployed at scale across India's largest banks, insurers, NBFCs, and government departments, handling millions of real interactions.
The role focuses on engineering agents as production software artifacts rather than prompt-tweaking experiments. You will map the full operational space agents must handle, design for failure modes, build comprehensive evaluation frameworks, and ensure quality is measurable and maintainable. Key responsibilities include: building production agents on the Sarvam stack (prompts, system design, workflows, tool integrations, evals); mapping scenarios and edge cases so coverage is designed rather than discovered in production; creating proofs of concept that move fast; integrating with legacy systems (core banking, CRM, ticketing, telephony); owning quality end-to-end with defined metrics and evaluation pipelines; versioning and reviewing agents like software with regression suites; tuning for production constraints (accuracy, cost, reliability, performance); designing for scale and consistency from day one; and taking proven patterns to new customers at pace.
At senior levels, you will own technical playbooks and quality standards for a product motion and mentor other engineers. The company builds the entire stack—foundational models, infrastructure, and products—so when deployments need new capabilities, you work directly with the teams who built the underlying systems rather than waiting on vendor roadmaps.
You will see the consequences of your engineering decisions within days in live production systems. Sarvam's products span conversational AI, agentic workflows, intelligent document processing, and content services including dubbing and translation.
