Decagon is a conversational AI platform enabling enterprises to deploy AI agents for customer support and operations across voice, chat, email, SMS, and other channels. Clients include Avis Budget Group, Block's Cash App, Square, Chime, Oura Health, and Hunter Douglas.
As Agent Development Manager, you will lead and scale Decagon's agent development function. You will own the strategy and execution for deploying AI agents across complex enterprise environments, ensuring smooth, impactful builds that drive long-term customer success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading AI agent builds from conception through deployment, driving execution, adoption, and measurable business outcomes
- Designing and owning the agent development playbook—creating frameworks, processes, and standards that make agent builds repeatable and scalable
- Partnering closely with customer teams to understand workflows and goals, translating needs into successful agent implementations
- Working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Engineering to align on customer requirements and technical solutions
- Guiding complex rollouts, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring every launch delivers measurable impact
- Identifying bottlenecks and introducing better systems, tooling, and automation to improve speed, quality, and consistency
- Building and leading a high-performing team focused on developing world-class AI agents
Required background:
- 4+ years in customer-facing technical roles (implementations, solutions consulting, consulting, finance, product, or project management)
- Experience leading complex software or AI deployments with measurable results
- Technical fluency with SaaS platforms, integrations, and APIs
- Strong operational instincts and experience building scalable processes or playbooks
- Excellent communication skills working effectively with executives and operators
- Highly organized with ability to bring structure to ambiguity in fast-paced environments
- Team-first mindset with low ego
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with enterprise systems like Zendesk or Salesforce
- Experience building a new function or operating model from the ground up
- Power user of AI tools who leverages them to transform workflows and drive efficiency gains
