Impulse is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and production of additive manufacturing components for advanced propulsion systems. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate with propulsion engineers, design teams, materials specialists, and manufacturing engineers to advance hardware from initial concept through functional, production-ready designs. Key responsibilities include: • Partner with cross-functional teams (design, analysis, materials, manufacturing) to develop next-generation propulsion hardware using additive manufacturing techniques • Operate and optimize additive manufacturing platforms, including troubleshooting, calibration, and coordination with OEMs for continuous improvement • Identify and drive projects to enhance printer platform robustness and repeatability by analyzing machine issues, failed builds, and in-process sensor data • Develop and optimize comprehensive manufacturing strategies, including procedures, quality verification protocols, and process documentation • Collaborate with vendors to define and refine requirements for additively manufactured components • Research and implement new additive processes and materials to support efficient propulsion product development • Support component testing and verification activities, including proof, leak, flow, and fit testing • Manage the complete additive manufacturing process from design through production and test handoff • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and manuals to support process refinement and knowledge transfer Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, welding, or related discipline; 2+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience; demonstrated expertise in Design for Manufacturability for both additive and traditional processes; strong understanding of thermal and structural fundamentals as applied to metallic materials.
