Flexport is a global commerce platform that moves over $19B in merchandise annually across 112 countries. The company is seeking an Accounts Receivable Collections Analyst to manage a portfolio of customer accounts and drive timely payment collection.
In this role, you will manage collections for assigned accounts through email and phone outreach, prioritizing overdue balances and following through on commitments to meet cash collection and days sales outstanding (DSO) targets. You'll review account aging and collection activity daily, maintaining accurate records of customer conversations, payment promises, disputes, and next steps.
Key responsibilities include building relationships with customers' Accounts Payable teams and serving as their point of contact for collections and payment questions. You'll coordinate incoming requests, handle initial escalations, and resolve issues promptly, bringing in the appropriate teams when needed. You'll investigate complex account balances, recommend next steps based on facts and customer history, and research invoice and payment discrepancies to resolve AR/AP questions.
You'll work with the Credit team to arrange and monitor approved payment schedules for overdue accounts, and lead biweekly reviews with business leaders on open receivables and collection risks. Cross-functional collaboration with Credit, Account Management, Sales, Disputes, and Legal is essential to resolve payment delays while maintaining professional customer relationships.
The role emphasizes using approved AI tools to summarize account histories, analyze aging data, and draft follow-ups—while verifying amounts and claims before acting and protecting customer information. You'll support Finance and Accounting with month-end close activities and other projects as needed. The role reports to the Head of North American Collections.
Success in your first year means assigned accounts have clear action plans with reliable records and consistent follow-up, collection performance improves against agreed targets, customers and internal partners receive clear answers and dependable service, and you use AI and process improvements to reduce manual work while maintaining accuracy and financial controls.
