LemFi is a Series B fintech company building a financial platform for the Global South, enabling immigrants to access cross-border payments, multi-currency accounts, credit, and savings across 21 countries. The company processes over $1B in monthly transactions and serves millions of users globally.
As an Accounts Payable Associate, you will own end-to-end vendor payment processing across LemFi's multiple entities (UK, US, Canada, Ireland, Norway, Nigeria, and others), working with multiple currencies, GL codes, tax jurisdictions, and approval chains. You will be a key part of the Finance team that keeps the company's financial operations running smoothly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing and controlling vendor invoices across multiple entities and currencies using Tipalti and NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Performing GL coding, cost-centre allocation, and tax coding (VAT, reverse charge, RCS), flagging anomalies early
- Running and supporting payment cycles, validating bank details, currency, and approval sign-offs, and managing vendor communications
- Owning the monthly AP close process: accruals, aged payables review, and reconciliations with clear resolution of discrepancies
- Maintaining vendor master data (bank details, tax status, W-9/W-8 forms) with strong controls and supporting audit requests
- Identifying recurring miscoding, duplicate invoices, and process gaps, then contributing to automation initiatives (n8n workflows, NetSuite automation) to reduce manual effort
- Supporting bank statement uploads and reconciliations for the Reporting team, flagging discrepancies quickly
You will have real scope to improve inherited processes, not just execute them, and will work closely with Finance, Growth, and Operations teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Finance Operations, or transactional finance
- Hands-on experience with an AP or ERP system; NetSuite and/or Tipalti strongly preferred
- Comfortable processing across multiple currencies and entities; exposure to multi-jurisdiction or group structures is advantageous
- Working knowledge of VAT and sales tax concepts (reverse charge, non-deductible VAT, or equivalent)
- Strong Excel skills: lookups, pivot tables, data cleanup, and reconciliation work
- Detail-oriented and control-conscious, with ability to prioritize high transaction volumes and meet payment deadlines
- Clear written communicator who can liaise confidently with vendors and internal stakeholders
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience in fintech, payments, or regulated financial services
- Exposure to automation tools (e.g., n8n) or light scripting for finance workflows
- Experience supporting external audit requests
