Kikoff is a profitable, pre-IPO fintech company on a mission to empower millions to achieve financial security. With record revenue growth in 2025 and a unicorn valuation, the company has built a suite of products helping people build credit, access liquidity, and save money. The Accounting Manager will own operating expenses and general accounting end-to-end, responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of financials across all non-revenue areas. This is a hands-on role with meaningful ownership, reporting to the US Controller and based in the San Francisco office. Key responsibilities include: - Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including consolidation and financial statement preparation across multiple entities with intercompany and foreign currency activity - Manage all non-revenue accounting areas: operating expenses, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and equity accounting - Oversee the accounts payable function and provide oversight of accounts receivable through the AP/AR Specialist - Perform detailed flux and variance analysis, proactively investigating unexpected trends - Partner cross-functionally to gather and validate financial data - Identify and drive improvements to accounting processes, systems, and controls to support scale and prepare for future growth - Lead and develop a team of 2 (a Senior Accountant and an AP/AR Specialist), improving close speed, reliability, and scalability - Lead the end-to-end audit process for non-revenue areas - Partner with external advisors and internal leadership on technical accounting The role focuses on building public-company-ready financial infrastructure ahead of an IPO, automating the close across multiple entities, and owning the full accounting stack from vendor invoice to cap table. Required qualifications: - 6+ years of accounting experience - Proficiency with AI tools for preparation, reconciliations, research, and documentation - Experience owning the close and general ledger in multi-entity environments - Ability to set close calendars and hold partners accountable - Strong US GAAP knowledge for accrual, cutoff, and capitalization decisions - Experience rebuilding broken accounting processes - Direct experience with external audits and audit-ready workpapers - Clear written and verbal communication skills - Comfort with modern finance stack tools
