Balance is seeking an Account Manager to own strategic enterprise relationships end-to-end, from initial kickoff through renewal. This role combines account management with technical depth—you'll manage a portfolio of strategic accounts, drive adoption through quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and executive business reviews (EBRs), and own the full renewal cycle including upsell and cross-sell opportunities. You'll serve as the day-to-day point of contact for account health, handling technical questions about integrations, data, and configuration. When issues arise, you're expected to investigate logs yourself, reproduce bugs, and determine when to escalate to Engineering or Solutions Engineering. You'll lead complex customer implementations, acting as a project manager to align internal teams (Product, Risk, Engineering, Legal, Finance Ops) and external stakeholders. You'll also translate customer feedback into actionable input for Product and Engineering teams. This role reports to Balance's Director of Account Management and requires the ability to work onsite in New York City at least 3 days per week. The company offers stock options for all full-time employees and provides health, dental, and vision plan options. REQUIREMENTS: • 3+ years of Account Management experience managing enterprise B2B accounts • Strong presentation skills and executive presence for business reviews • Experience leading complex customer implementations or expansions, aligning internal and external teams • Deep technical background: ability to read code, write SQL, trace failing requests through logs, and reproduce integration bugs • Proficiency using AI effectively, including in technical work • Proactive and flexible, comfortable in fast-paced, early-stage environments with shifting priorities • Highly organized and data-literate, using metrics to identify trends and communicate performance NICE TO HAVE: • Background in fintech, credit, underwriting, or lending • Experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, or B2B payments software • Track record of success at an early-stage or high-growth company
