As an Account Manager, you will own the customer relationship and revenue side of a paired model where a Forward-Deployed Engineer handles technical deployment (ATS integration, workflows, support). You'll manage a book of accounts with responsibility for net revenue retention, renewals, upsells, and expansions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning NRR for your book of accounts, managing renewals end-to-end plus identifying upsell and expansion opportunities
- Multi-threading relationships across executive sponsors, champions, and daily users to reduce churn risk from single departures
- Driving adoption through onboarding, training, and proactive usage monitoring to identify at-risk accounts before renewal
- Building internal and external business cases, enabling your champion to sell internally while creating case studies for future deals
- Leading quarterly business reviews with stakeholders, using usage data and product roadmap to identify expansion paths
- Collaborating with your paired Forward-Deployed Engineer, routing technical questions appropriately and sharing expansion signals
This is an early-stage Account Management function where your input will shape how the team operates. The role is based in-office in San Francisco, 5 days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in Account Management, Customer Success with a revenue number, or as an AE carrying a renewal and expansion book at a SaaS company; must be able to name specific targets and results
- Proven experience owning renewals end-to-end (timeline, pricing, negotiation, close) and comfort asking for money
- Demonstrated ability to drive customer teams to change their workflows, not just close contracts
- Credibility with both executives and end-user recruiters
- Technical fluency (not hands-on): ability to discuss ATS integrations and know when to escalate to engineering
- Data-driven approach: act on usage metrics proactively and convert customer wins into sales collateral
- Commercial confidence: prefer early pricing conversations and excited to build playbooks for the function
- Bonus: high-growth startup experience
