Harper is an AI-native commercial insurance company rebuilding the entire business as software. The company has grown ~100x in the last year and operates at high speed with on-site, in-person teams. Role Overview You will own the commercial path from partner introduction through deal close for referred business opportunities. Your core responsibility is converting partner-sourced leads into closed insurance business while maintaining transparency and trust with both the customer and the referring partner. Unlike generic inbound sales, partnership-sourced deals require a dedicated motion that respects the partner relationship and customer consent. Key Responsibilities - Respond quickly to referred customers and create a seamless handoff experience, avoiding the need for customers to repeat their story - Understand the partner promise: know what the partner told the customer and what Harper is expected to deliver - Run the full commercial process: intake, quote, recommendation, objection handling, and close - Protect customer consent and trust by sharing only appropriate status and information with partners - Keep partners informed with clear outcome, timing, blocker, and next-step information through approved channels - Identify repeatable plays by learning which partner segments, customer types, and handoffs produce durable value - Coordinate across intake, placement, markets, service, and the partnership owner without losing accountability - Provide the Head of Partnerships with real conversion, quality, and service evidence to inform portfolio decisions Outcomes You'll Drive - Referred customers receive timely first touch and clear commercial path - Partners receive accurate updates that respect customer permission - Wins and losses produce useful feedback about customer fit, handoff quality, and timing - Partnership team gains visibility into which relationships create durable revenue vs. volume only - Improvements in partner-sourced conversion, booked revenue, response time, and partner retention Ideal Candidate Profile - Proven track record closing referral, channel, partnership, franchise, or relationship-sourced business - Ability to serve two relationships simultaneously without confusing whose interest you represent - Clear communicator with business owners and professional partners - Comfortable with high-volume phone work and visible conversion measurement - Willing to earn and maintain commercial insurance producer license - Based in or willing to relocate to Atlanta or San Francisco Not a Fit If - You want to manage partnerships without closing customer opportunities - You treat referred customers like anonymous inbound leads - You over-share customer information to satisfy a partner - You avoid follow-up, direct asks, or difficult outcome conversations - You require remote or hybrid work Requirements - Commercial insurance producer license required within ~30 days of start (Harper covers training and licensing) - Proven experience in referral or partnership-sourced sales - Ability to work on-site 5 days per week, Monday–Friday, with early morning start times - Strong communication and relationship management skills
