Harper is hiring Account Executives to close small-business insurance policies at volume. You will take qualified business owners from quote and recommendation through to a closed policy decision, working primarily via phone with warmed, pre-qualified leads. Your core responsibilities include: - Close small-business accounts at volume through direct, focused conversations. You own the moment when the customer has a price, questions, and urgency—and you turn that into a decision. - Use full account context before every call: know the customer's operation, urgency, quoted options, coverage needs, and open questions. Harper's AI assembles this; you translate it into a clear recommendation. - Explain commercial choices plainly. Make price, coverage, carrier, and tradeoffs understandable without insurance jargon. - Handle objections and stay with live opportunities until they close, clearly die, or require a different Harper owner. - Recover harder opportunities. Read account history, diagnose what failed, rebuild a credible path with Harper partners, and ask for the decision again. - Work the prepared queue. Verify account facts, use prioritized follow-up lists, correct generated drafts, and record actual outcomes. - Protect accuracy and contact preferences. Work within your license and authority; never overstate coverage or skip real questions. Never contact opted-out customers. - Feed the system. Capture why customers buy, wait, or walk away so playbook and product improve. - Raise the floor. Share calls, language, and patterns that make the whole sales team better. You will be measured on policies closed, booked revenue, conversion quality, and accuracy of what you sell. This is a high-volume phone-closing role, not an enterprise sales cycle. You work Monday–Friday, in-office 5 days a week, with very early morning starts. Harper is an AI-powered insurance platform for small businesses. Atlanta is the in-person, high-volume sales hub; San Francisco is another active closing center. SDRs own reach and qualification; Intake owns application completeness. You begin when the customer is qualified and ready for quote, recommendation, or closing conversation. REQUIREMENTS: - Closed in a high-volume phone-sales environment (required experience). - Comfortable being measured on conversion and revenue, not soft activity. - Ability to build trust quickly with small-business owners. - Listen for the real objection and respond directly. - Can read difficult account history, identify what failed, and explain a corrected path without blaming the customer. - Use coaching, call review, and data to improve your own conversion. - Commercial insurance producer license required within ~30 days of start (Harper pays for training and licensing). - Commercial insurance experience is valuable but not required for every level. - Based in Atlanta or San Francisco, or ready to relocate to one of those offices. - Must be willing to work on-site 5 days a week with very early morning starts.
