Role Overview
The Account Executive for Iberia (Spain & Portugal) is responsible for driving new business development, building strategic customer relationships, and expanding existing accounts across the assigned territory. This role focuses on delivering sustainable revenue growth through a consultative sales approach, leveraging Extreme Networks' comprehensive portfolio of networking, security, and cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Extreme Networks' comprehensive portfolio of wired, wireless, cloud networking, network management, and security solutions across Spain and Portugal
- Drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability while consistently achieving and exceeding assigned quotas
- Develop and execute territory and account plans focused on acquiring new customers and expanding strategic existing accounts
- Utilize a consultative and solution-selling approach to identify customer business challenges and align solutions to business outcomes
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive decision-makers, including CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, and other senior stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with channel partners, distributors, system integrators, and internal teams to develop and execute joint business plans
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and manage pipeline development through all stages of the sales cycle
- Lead complex sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders, business units, and partners
- Work effectively with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Marketing, Services, and Channel teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences
- Stay current on industry trends, competitive positioning, technology developments, and market opportunities
Requirements
- 7+ years of successful enterprise technology sales experience within networking, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and/or cloud technology sectors
- Proven success developing new business opportunities while expanding and growing existing strategic accounts
- Demonstrated ability to close large, complex enterprise sales opportunities involving multiple decision-makers and long sales cycles
- Strong executive presence and communication skills with proven experience engaging C-level executives
- Experience selling complex technology solutions, including networking, cloud management, cybersecurity, and subscription-based software offerings
- Strong solution-selling, account planning, and business development skills
- Experience working successfully within a channel-driven go-to-market model
- Strong business planning, pipeline management, and forecasting experience
- Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
- Trusted business partner who demonstrates integrity, accountability, and high professional standards
- Strong understanding of the competitive landscape and relevant technology markets
- Proven and verifiable track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas and achieving top sales performance recognition (e.g., President's Club)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience managing enterprise customers and channel partners across Spain and/or Portugal
- Existing relationships with major enterprise accounts, public sector organizations, service providers, and strategic channel partners across Iberia are highly desirable
- Strong understanding of the Iberian market, including key customers, partners, and the broader technology ecosystem
- Based in Spain, preferably Madrid, with willingness to travel regularly across Spain and Portugal as required
- Native or near-native Spanish language proficiency required
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
- Portuguese language skills are considered a strong advantage
