VAST Data is seeking an Account Executive to drive sales within the Higher Education and SLED (State, Local, and Education) sectors, focusing on the Gulf Coast region. This role is central to VAST's mission as a data platform company for the AI era, building enterprise software infrastructure to capture, catalog, refine, and protect massive datasets for real-time analysis and AI training.
As an Account Executive, you will develop business across enterprise-level customers, generate revenue through a network of channel partners, and manage complex sales cycles specific to public sector procurement. You will build executive-level relationships with colleges and universities, understand their unique funding and procurement processes, and guide customers through the entire sales journey—from initial prospecting and penetration of large accounts to closing deals and post-sale expansion opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and presenting proposals that demonstrate VAST's ability to meet customer business objectives
- Managing the sales process to align with customer buying cycles
- Reaching decision-makers and closing business within higher education and public sector accounts
- Managing customer relationships from first meeting through proof of concept and beyond
- Working closely with channel partners to successfully sell VAST Data offerings
- Expanding the VAST Data footprint within existing accounts
