Secure Schools is a K-12 exclusive cybersecurity readiness platform founded in the UK and now headquartered in Austin, with offices in Cambridge and Sydney. The company helps schools prepare for cyberattacks through products including Cyber Score (a free readiness assessment), Cybersecurity Control Audits, and Phishing & Awareness training. Secure Schools is part of Beyond, a group of three technology-driven brands united by a mission to reduce friction in technology adoption. As the first Account Executive in the US, you will build and grow the US sales pipeline from prospecting through close. This is a high-autonomy, hands-on role where you'll create opportunities rather than rely on inbound leads or SDR support. You'll work directly with the Founder and CEO to shape the US go-to-market approach and establish the sales playbook for future team growth. Key responsibilities include: prospecting and opening conversations with K-12 districts; owning the full sales cycle from discovery through negotiation and close; building relationships with CTOs, IT Directors, and senior technology leaders; managing RFP responses end-to-end; structuring pilot and proof-of-value engagements; identifying and leveraging purchasing co-ops and state procurement vehicles; engaging broader buying groups including business offices and superintendents; attending national and state conferences to generate pipeline and build awareness; developing case studies and references from early customers; and documenting sales processes to create a scalable playbook. The role is based in Austin, Texas, with a 32-hour work week across 4 days and regular office visits. Travel is expected for conferences and customer meetings across the US. Requirements: Proven experience building pipeline from scratch and consistently generating new business (most critical). Experience selling to K-12 districts with an existing network of senior technology decision-makers. Experience selling SaaS into K-12 or other public-sector/education verticals. Strong track record owning full sales cycles and delivering against targets. Technical credibility to engage confidently with senior technology leaders (not required to be an engineer). Experience managing RFPs and formal tender processes with strong written communication skills. Familiarity with purchasing co-ops, state contract vehicles, and public-sector procurement (advantageous). Experience selling security, compliance, or assurance products (advantageous). Strong communication and presentation skills. Excellent relationship-building skills for longer, relationship-driven sales cycles. Commercially driven, target-focused, resilient, and determined. Highly proactive and self-motivated, comfortable creating opportunities independently. Organized and disciplined in managing large territories and multiple opportunities. Resourceful and adaptable, able to work independently and solve problems in fast-moving environments. Comfortable working closely with founders while owning your own market and territory. Willing to travel for conferences and customer meetings. Ambitious and motivated by early-stage growth opportunities and building from the ground up.
