Baselayer is an AI Risk Platform that automates merchant onboarding, underwriting, and fraud prevention for over 20% of financial institutions in America. The company combines authoritative government data, AI agents for web analysis, and a network powered by millions of applications to prevent billions in merchant fraud and credit risk. As an Account Executive, you will own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, including qualification, discovery, demos, pilots, and negotiation. You'll build and manage a healthy pipeline across SMB, mid-market, and enterprise accounts, executing outbound prospecting sequences to generate new opportunities. Your role involves leading discovery conversations to understand customer pain points and align Baselayer's solutions, running high-quality product demos, and managing customer trials or pilots. You'll partner closely with Product and Engineering to share customer feedback and influence roadmap decisions, and collaborate with GTM leadership to refine positioning, messaging, and sales motions. You'll represent Baselayer with professionalism, credibility, and thought leadership in the market. This is a full-time, in-office role based in New York City. You'll join a small, close-knit team where ownership is real, customer impact is immediate, and the work you ship matters from day one. The company moves deliberately, communicates directly, and cares deeply about quality. REQUIREMENTS: - 2 to 4+ years of experience in SaaS sales, fintech, financial services, or a highly analytical GTM role - Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets - Experience running complex, consultative sales cycles with technical or analytical buyers - Strong discovery, storytelling, and objection-handling skills - Comfort operating in ambiguity and rapidly evolving environments - Proactive, self-directed mindset where you create momentum rather than wait for direction - High intellectual curiosity and fast learning ability - Strong desire for feedback, growth, and continuous improvement - Ability to operate with urgency, accountability, and high standards - Strategic and scrappy approach; ability to engage credibly with leaders across fintech, credit, fraud, risk, and operations
