BetterUp is seeking an Account Director for EMEA to lead strategic account management and drive growth across the company's most important customers. This is a pivotal role that orchestrates the entire sales ecosystem—combining new business development, account expansion, renewal management, and customer success under a unified strategy. Key Responsibilities: Account Strategy & Growth: Develop comprehensive account strategies in collaboration with customer executives and BetterUp leadership. Own expansion and renewal targets for named accounts. Identify and develop new relationships within strategic accounts through prospecting, networking, and partnership with the marketing team. Lead commercial conversations and manage the full contracting process. Customer Relationships: Navigate complex, matrixed organizations to identify internal champions. Consult and coach customers on talent and HR strategy, demonstrating alignment with their business objectives. Serve as the primary point of contact to drive member engagement and measurable results. Internal Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with post-sales, customer success, and delivery teams to ensure alignment on account strategy, opportunities, stakeholder identification, and member adoption. Identify and communicate risks and opportunities swiftly. Collaborate with product and engineering teams on roadmap prioritization and beta customer identification. The role requires expertise in enterprise consultative selling, executive presence, and the ability to navigate complex multi-stakeholder deals. Workplace: Hybrid with a minimum of 2 days per week in the London office (or 8 days per month). Requirements: - Minimum 10 years of sales experience, with 5+ years in enterprise consultative selling - Proven track record selling to CXOs at Fortune 500+ companies - Consistent top 10-20% performance ranking within sales organizations - Personal experience leading and closing 6+ month, multi-buyer deals valued at $1M+ - Prior experience selling to CHROs and Heads of L&D/Talent/Transformation (ideal, not required) - Exceptional executive presence and compelling written/verbal communication skills - High emotional intelligence with strong empathy, influence, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities - Process-driven, meticulously organized, and self-motivated - Proficiency with Salesforce for sales cycle management - Ability to adapt sales motion in a startup environment - Unrelenting drive to learn, succeed, and lead by example
