OpenAI's Enterprise Go-To-Market organization is seeking an Account Associate to help the world's largest companies adopt and scale AI platforms across their business. You'll work with organizations in Financial Services, Life Sciences, and Retail to build AI-powered customer experiences, transform operations, and reimagine how work gets done in highly regulated and technically complex environments.
This role is designed as a launchpad for future enterprise sellers at OpenAI, offering significant exposure to enterprise sales, product, and customer strategy. You'll develop core skills in discovery, stakeholder mapping, deal shaping, and executive communication while building deep understanding of how leading companies adopt AI. Many individuals in this role progress to become Account Directors or take on broader GTM roles, though advancement is based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Account Directors on account strategy, multi-threading, and deal progression
- Design and execute targeted outbound strategies using industry context, stakeholder mapping, and product signals to break into priority accounts
- Lead high-quality discovery to uncover business priorities, map stakeholders, and assess enterprise readiness
- Contribute to pipeline reviews by sharing outbound activity, account insights, and early competitive signals
- Build and iterate on AI-enabled GTM workflows (GPTs/agents) to scale prospecting and qualification
Requirements:
- 4+ years of relevant experience in enterprise sales or strategic customer-facing roles in finance or consulting
- Track record of consistently hitting and exceeding ambitious targets in enterprise or strategic sales environments
- Experience selling into regulated or complex industries (Financial Services, Life Sciences, Retail)
- Strong communication skills and executive presence; ability to build credibility with senior C-Suite stakeholders and speak fluently with technical buyers
- Strong interest in the AI landscape with ability to connect OpenAI products to real customer value and business outcomes
- Comfort with ambiguity, moving quickly, and operating with high degree of ownership
- Willingness to evangelize new technology and help the market understand what's possible
The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week (Monday-Wednesday). Relocation assistance is offered to new employees.
