Northwood Space is a modern space infrastructure company building a global network of phased array ground stations to enable real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions including national security, global connectivity, and disaster response. The company designs, builds, and rapidly deploys scalable systems that power next-generation space missions.
The Workplace Operations Associate will ensure manufacturing and workplace spaces are organized, functional, and ready for daily use. This is a hands-on role coordinating maintenance requests, supporting service providers, and responding to facility needs across production areas, the machine shop, inventory space, and offices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to facility requests, troubleshooting routine issues, and coordinating repairs or escalating needs to appropriate internal teams or service providers
- Supporting daily operations across production lines, machine shop, inventory areas, and office space to minimize disruptions
- Tracking preventive maintenance, inspections, work orders, and facility records to keep the site operating reliably
- Coordinating on-site vendors and contractors, including scheduling visits, arranging access, and following up on completed work
- Maintaining organized, functional shared spaces and supporting layout changes, equipment placement, and employee work area modifications
- Identifying recurring issues and suggesting improvements to facility processes, service schedules, and workplace experience
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in facilities, workplace operations, property operations, or a related role
- Experience coordinating maintenance requests, service providers, or day-to-day operations in a busy facility
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including ability to track multiple requests through completion
- Clear communication skills and practical, service-oriented approach to working with employees, vendors, and cross-functional teams
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, or other equipment-intensive environment
- Familiarity with building systems, preventive maintenance, or facility work order software
- Experience supporting a growing team or facility with both production and office space
- Experience coordinating space changes, equipment installations, or facility improvement projects
