Baseten is hiring a Workday Senior Analyst to own the company's newly in-house people systems implementation and ongoing administration. You will join during the active implementation phase, work alongside the deployment partner, and assume full tenant ownership at go-live. This is a hands-on, technical configuration role where you will build and maintain Workday's core HCM functionality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own day-to-day Workday configuration: business processes, security groups and roles, custom reports, calculated fields, and tenant settings
- Build and run EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) loads for data changes, mass updates, and audits
- Manage the twice-yearly Workday release cycle: evaluate new features, regression-test, and safely roll out changes
- Shadow the implementation build, then take over full tenant ownership at go-live
- Monitor integrations and triage issues with IT team and vendors
- Support payroll configuration in partnership with Accounting and payroll services provider
- Field and resolve system requests from employees, managers, and the People team
- Mentor teammates to build Workday administration as a team capability, reducing single points of failure
This is a rare opportunity to shape a Workday environment from its first production day rather than inheriting years of accumulated decisions. You will work in a fast-paced environment at a well-funded AI infrastructure company ($1.5B Series F, recently raised) serving major AI companies like Cursor, Notion, and OpenEvidence.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years administering a live Workday tenant in-house (customer side, not consulting)
- Deep Workday HCM core expertise: business process configuration, security administration, and Report Writer
- Fluent with EIBs and comfortable owning data loads end to end
- Shipped multiple Workday releases and know how to test them thoroughly
- Builder's temperament: you do the configuration yourself and enjoy hands-on work
- Clear written communication for documentation and change notes
- Excitement about a faster pace than previous roles
- Interest in improving playbooks and using AI tools to enhance your work
NICE TO HAVE:
- Workday Payroll configuration experience
- Workday Benefits module configuration (plan and enrollment event setup)
- Workday Absence Management configuration (time off and leave plans)
- Workday Pro or similar certifications
- Ability to commute to San Francisco or New York office
