Anthropic is seeking a Workday Business Systems Analyst to join the People Systems team, owning technical configuration, testing, and operational excellence of the Workday HRIS platform across Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking (PATT) and Human Capital Management (HCM) domains. You will serve as a system expert responsible for configuring and maintaining payroll components, earnings and deductions, pay groups, period schedules, and payroll-related business processes. On the absence side, you'll manage time-off plans, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, and leave types. For time tracking, you'll configure time entry templates, validations, work schedules, calendars, and overtime calculations. Core HCM responsibilities include managing supervisory organizations, staffing models, job profiles, compensation structures, custom organizations, and worker data integrity. You'll design and build business process definitions including condition rules, calculated fields, custom validations, routing and approval logic, and notifications across both domains. You'll partner with the Payroll team to troubleshoot configuration-driven issues, bring strong command of the Workday security model (role-based, user-based, and intersection security groups, domain and business process security policies), and support security and data audits. Impact analysis before changes ship is critical—understanding how HCM and security changes ripple into payroll, absence, and time data. You'll lead testing and adoption for Workday's twice-yearly releases, translate business requirements into scalable system design, build trusted relationships with partner teams across People, Finance, and IT, and support change management through communication and enablement. Advanced reporting, dashboards, alerts, and scheduled reports are part of your toolkit. Day-to-day system triage and root-cause resolution are expected. The role emphasizes innovation: actively explore where AI and automation can strengthen People Systems workflows, from testing and documentation to ticket triage and report generation, leveraging Anthropic's own tools. You'll drive process automation and optimization opportunities with the broader People team and partner functions. This is about moving the team forward, not just keeping systems running—the right candidate questions "the way it's always been done" and thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
